GMDC is setting up following projects in Joint Venture with private entrepreneurs :
- Lead, Zinc & Copper at Ambaji
GMDC executed an MoU with M/s. Binani Zinc Ltd. and M/s. Rajasthan State Mines & Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. for setting up of Beneficiation plant based on the deposits of Ambaji, Deri and Basantgarh. JVC to implement the project has already been incorporated in the name of M/s. RBG Minerals Industries Limited.
- Alumina plant
- Setting up of Alumina plant based on Kutch bauxite deposit with M/s. Ashapura Minechem Limited.
- Setting up of Alumina plant based on bauxite deposits of other than Kutch District with M/s. Aluchem Inc., of USA.
- Brown Fused Alumina / Tabular Alumina
Setting up of Brown Fused Alumina plant in JV with M/s. Carborundum Universal Limited in Kutch.
- Silica Sand Beneficiation
Setting up of Silica sand Beneficiation plant in Bharuch District, in JV with M/s. Asahi India Glass Limited, Mumbai.
- Fluorspar Beneficiation plant
Setting up of Beneficiation plant at Kadipani, Taluka Kawant, Dist. Baroda in JV with M/s. Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited, Noida and M/s. Navin Fluorine Intrnational, Mumbai.
- Manganese based downstream units
Setting up of Manganese based downstream units in JV with following companies
- M/s. Cube Mines & Minerals Pvt. Ltd., Baroda
- M/s. Shivam Manganese & Minerals Pvt. Ltd., Baroda
- M/s. SAL Steels Limited, Ahmedabad
- M/s. Shyam Sel Ltd., Kolkata
- Underground Coal Gasification
- MOU executed with M/s. Oil & Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) for R &D project at Bhavnagar.
- MOU executed with M/s. Reliance Industries Limited for setting up of Underground Coal Gasification project. Dungra block in Surat District has been identified as suitable for the purpose.
- Setting up of Power projects based on coal to be supplied by GMDC
- Executed Coal Supply Agreement with M/s. KSK Energy Ventures Ltd. & M/s. Wardha Power Company Ltd., Hyderabad, for setting up of 1750 MW power project based on Coal to be supplied by GMDC from Morga-II coal block in Chhatisgarh.
- Setting up of power projects by M/s. Adani Enterprise Limited and M/s. Torrent Power Limited based on the coal to be supplied by GMDC from Naini Coal Block in Orissa.
- Refractories, Monolithics and Castables
Setting up of Refractories, Monolighics and Castables and other value added products project in JV with M/s. Tata Refractories Limited and M/s. Meena Agency Limited, in Kutch District.
- Cement Plant
Setting up of 2.4 million TPA of Cement Plant in JV with M/s. Jaiprakash Associates Limited, New Delhi, in Kutch along with Mineral based SEZ, based on limestone to be supplied from GMDC. JVC to implement the project has already been incorporated in the name of M/s. Gujarat Jaypee Cement & Infrastructure Limited.
- Development of Koteshwar Jetty
MOU executed with M/s. Gujarat Maritime Board for development of Koteshwar Jetty or construction of new jetty in JV with M/s. Jaiprakash Associates Limited, New Delhi, in the Kori creek or Kharo creek.
- Lignite based Power Project
- 500 MW power plant at Bhavnagar
Setting up of power project at Bhavnagar in JV with 7 other PSUs of Govt. of Gujarat. JVC to implement the project has already been incorporated in the name of M/s. Bhavnagar Energy Co. Ltd. Mining will be carried out by GMDC as the Mine operator.
- 80 MW Power Project
Setting up of power plant based on lignite of Tadkeshwar mines of GMDC in JV with M/s. Gujarat Refoils & Solvents Limited, Ahmedabad. JVC to implement the project has already been incorporated in the name of M/s. Gujarat Gokul Power Limited.
- Speciality Aluminium chemicals
Setting up of Speciality Aluminium Chemicals Plant in Kutch District in JV with M/s. Alumina Refinery Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.
- Integrated Coke Oven Plant
Setting up of Coke Oven Plant in Kutch District, based on coal to be supplied by GMDC against allocation of coal blocks by Govt. of India, in JV with M/s. Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., New Delhi.
- Coal mining at Mozambique
MOU executed with M/s. Rachana Global LDA, Mozambique, to carry mining in JV at Mozambique.
