Unfurling the National Tricolour is indeed a matter of pride and privilege. The 64th Independence Day celebration was hosted by Rajkot in this year. In my capacity as Prabhari Sachiv of Rajkot district, I had an opportunity to preside over the full-dress rehearsal of Independence Day Parade on 13th August, 2010. I was overwhelmed with the feeling of sense of pride. The tunes played by the Police Band charged up not only the Parade participants but also every one present at the venue.

This is the day when we are reminded of the invaluable sacrifice and services of our great freedom fighters. It becomes our duty in a way to preserve the sanctity of this independence and strive constantly to make our tricolor shine with pride.
